Resist: Vision and Mission

Friends: It has been my humble experience that establishing a clear focus for any goal, challenge, or new activity is necessary for success. Today, let us strengthen our hopes and dreams, unite our energy and commitment, and then together we can manifest positive outcomes. You are completely free to offer your own suggestions on how to improve our focus today. I will do my best to incorporate your ideas into a revision of our Vision and Mission Statement.

Vision: We make a commitment to work within the Democratic Party to create a better, healthier, and more caring America.

Mission: To this end, we focus our social action by the following activities: #1. Organize peaceful demonstrations; #2. Participate in dignified protests; #3. Take a moral stand for basic human rights; #4. Strive to have our next president elected by popular vote.

Goal #1. To embrace many individual ways to pursue social action. For example, phone calls, petitions, letters, emails, social media, and personal contact with our elected officials.

Goal #2. To participate in and network with all local groups or chapters of national groups that seek to influence political change. Some of these groups are as follows: Indivisible, Resist Meetups, Common Cause, County Democrats, Sierra Club, and others.

Goal #3. To participate in national organizations that have the political power to make a difference. There is a whole list of these: National Democratic Party, AARP, National Popular Vote, NOW, NASW, NAACP, NCLR, ACLU, LGTB rights associations, Resist Calendar and others.

Together, we can Resist, and we will accomplish amazing things.

Motto: No Ban. No Wall. Stand for Human Rights. National Healthcare Now; National Popular Vote; Resist!

Friends: I believe our first peaceful demonstration should be to participate in a postcard party asking for President Trump to resign for betrayal of our basic human rights. Or ask him to change his attitude to treat all of us with dignity, respect, kindness, and love. Target date to mail in postcard is 3-15-17. Address is President (for now) Donald Trump; The White House; 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue NW, Washington DC 20500. More info here: http://jocodems.4030.com/postcard-party-anyone/
