Murray is a primary care physician trained in Internal Medicine who practiced at the Grants Pass Clinic from 1990 to 2017. For the past 12 years he has been a volunteer physician and teacher for a number of non-governmental overseas refugee agencies serving large camps in Uganda, Bangladesh and Greece. His training for that includes Epidemics, Tropical Medicine and Refugee Health. In March of 2020 Dr. Murray volunteered to be a Josephine County Public Health advisor and helped start the contact tracing program for Josephine County in April of 2020. He is also an advisor to Dr. Candelaria, the county chief medical officer. Murry’s wife, Caroline Brown, ran the urgent care department at the Grants Pass Clinic until last June. She has become “one of my best contact tracers,” Dr. Murray said. Their son Ben is also in medicine as a hospitalist in a rural hospital in Sandpoint Idaho. He was one of the first to receive the COVID vaccine in Idaho three weeks ago.
